The first car I bought was a 1965 Chevy Impala SS Convertible. 327/350 HP, 4 speed with a 12 bolt rear end.
Pix was taken when I was in the Marine Corp in 1970.

My first car was a 1966 Chevelle SS396 w/ a 4 spd,12 bolt,3.73 gears. It was light metallic blue w/a white interior, buckets and console. I bought it in 74 when I was 16 for 400 Bucks( YES 400 dollars). It was in pretty good condition as it had been stored for many years until the the previous owners family decided to sell it(son bought it new,was sent to Vietnam and was KIA. May the fallen RIP
) . All the ad said was 66 chevelle 400.00,when I saw it I bought it on the spot.I drove the car all through high school in Wisc. and all the way out to CA. when I moved back. Unfortunatly the car had an electrical fire and burnt to the ground in Dec.76 .Thats when I bought my second car (for 1400.00),A 68 charger R/T ,440, 4spd, dana car, which I still own today and its been mopars ever since ,D

Around 1995 I had a friend who bought a Malibu of this vintage for $50, repainted it pink (spray cans), cut the roof off, and put on a license plate that read, "My other car is a Ferrari F40". He just drove it around for a while until it died. That guy was a little crazy....

I know we all love Mopars now but for many including myself it was not my first.
I really didn't have much of a say in choosing my first car (depressing story) but it was a 1979 Ford Mustang POS. I did have a lot of fun with it but in the end (with a little help from my friends) the motor finally gave up and I sold it for $600. Can't say I wish I still had it. Anyways what was your first ride? -Steve

Dad drove me and Mom home from the hospital in a '54 Windsor Deluxe. Unfortunately, mom's next husband was a datsun/Toyota fan. So my first car was a Toyota Tercel. 1.2L DOHC FWD on 13" wheels FTL. That car should've stayed with the other bumper cars at the amusement park.
