I was fortunate to have a "car guy" Grandfather, He past when I was 13 yrs old and I inherited his 1970 Buick GS 455 w/37,000 miles on it. This car would teach me so much and keep me out of trouble in the years to come. It's fueled the passion for car's I have today. I sill have this car and plan on giving it to my Grandson some day.


1992 18 years old, just out of boot camp.

I don't have any pics of it but, my first car was a 1956 Buick that I bought for $35.00
when I was 15 and drove it for just about a year before I got it taken away for driving without a license...

Gas was .25 cents a gal....

First car that I actually owned is my '07 300... Otherwise my dad's hand-me-down SUVs when my he abused the hell out of them for work... (towing, lots of towing)

I just have to add that you are AWESOME for not getting rid of that car. I begged my parents to give me Victoria because Dad wanted to sell her. I basically sat down and told him "look. Why do you still have your '52 chevy pick up? Because it was your first car and you have an attachment to it. That's the 77 for me." Next day, he decided not to sell her. This year, she officially became mine. The only sad part was when my dad had to part with the original pink slip. Stupid DMV. I'm pretty sure that deep down, he is proud of my love for the classics, since he nurtured it. I have always heard people say they regret getting rid of their classics. I have never wanted to be the person to say that. So good for you for keeping it - ESPECIALLY because it was in the family and even more because it's still in good condition. Bring it out sometime if you can! I'd love to see it, and I wouldn't feel so bad being the only classic at our meets! lol

PS Maybe you'll have a granddaughter who will want it.

first car i have owned is my 300, before that I drove around my gf's car (still do on occasion), or was lucky enough to always catch a ride with friends or public transportation.

My first car was inherited after my great grandfather past away...and I got the 1972 Dodge Dart with a 318 V8...it was Canary Yellow with a vinyl hard top(peeling and everything).

Within a year, I had it painted black(Earl Schieb Special), moon discs(couldn't afford rims, lowered, pyle driver subwoofers & pioneer coaxials front and back(Quement), Grand Auto stereo deck with cassette(step up from push button am/fm stock deck)!!!

Ill find some picts very soon...have to look through some negatives(you know what those are...im sounding really old now!!!

My first car was a 53 Willys Wagon. Don't know if I have any pictures. Did all kinds of crazy stuff in that thing and it never let me down. I love seeing any kind of Willys still on the road today.
