Default Flashtech vs. AAC

I like the ccfl halo's but have read many bad reviews from aac, plus they are about twice the price. What do you guys think of the Flashtech Halos??

If you are looking at LED halos(only ones Flashtech sells) then it really doesn't matter which brand you go with. They both have problems, and with the LEDs, it's not a matter of if you will have groups of three go out, but when will they start going out. I've owned both AAC and currently Flashtech. They both offer lifetime warranty on the rings, it's just a PITA having to pull the front of the car apart and open up the headlights to replace them. and they are now both enforcing the whole "deposit" system for getting replacement rings, meaning you give them a deposit to ship out a new set and when you send the old ones back they refund you. If you don't have the ability, or are too scared to take your car apart and open up the headlights yourself, and plan on paying someone else to do the work, this may not be the mod for you. And don't let people fool you into thinking using the voltage regulator Flashtech supplies will prevent the problems, because it doesn't.

I went with AAC because they had the style i wanted in the custom sizes i needed to fit my after market headlights. I preferred Flashtech but they just didnt have the variatiy of inventory to do what i needed.

Problem with AAC is its been 5 weeks and im still waiting on my Halos...

Don't expect Flashtech to be much better. They seem to be "out of stock" when you call to ask why you haven't received your order yet, then they try to upsell you to a higher priced kit that they just happen to have in stock and ready to ship. Happened to a friend of mine who's halos I was replacing for the third time. This was after they sent him a used replacement ring that didn't even fit his Charger and thought it was okay to send people "refurbished" LED rings to replace bad ones that were originally bought brand new. I have no problems with them doing this as long as they inform the customer what is happening and the customer agrees to it, but that wasn't the case.

Yea, awesome mod, but real PITA. I have purple which is why I went with AAC, now that they are going out quick as crap, thinking of switching to flashtech if they have purple.

I just want plane jane white since I have a CV Mag.. The CCFL's look soo clean, I wouldn't mind the LED's but I don't wanna go taking off the front of the car every time I turn around. Oh well the headlights look good color matched too..

Flashtech doesn't make CCFLs, so your only option for those is AAC. And the reliability of the CCFLs seems to have gotten better than initially and last longer than the LEDs. Seems the biggest problems with the CCFLs is the ballast which are mounted externally anyways and are easier to swap out.
