Original Post on lxf:
P0441 - Evap Incorrect Purge Flow Car has about 60k. Evap cans go bad or do i have another issue? My gas cap is fine. (from a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T) ____________________________________ Post answered by Tbird100636 (another well-respected Chrysler Tech): Pete (referring to fnkychkn) you probably didn't notice but Chrysler goofed up when they changed the display format of service info on TechCONNECT, and the description for P0441 is for 2007 and up, which uses ESIM. BBoyPersia's car is a 2006, which is NVLD. Here's the correct description from a 2005 LX: For a complete wiring diagram Refer to Section 8W
EVAP PURGE SOLENOID VACUUM SUPPLY EVAP PURGE SOLENOID (Z904) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN (K107) NVLD SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN NVLD ASSEMBLY PCM Then why does Chrysler use a regulated supply of air to test Evaporative Emissions/Fuel Systems??? Most common for this issue is an NVLD switch sticking. The way it works STAR explained it to me years ago was slightly different than what I just posted. During cranking, the PCM opens the purge solenoid to allow a vacuum to be pulled on the Evap System. This small amount of vacuum is supposed to pull the NVLD switch open (Only about 1 in/hg. of vacuum). If it doesn't this DTC sets. You should always check the Purge Solenoid to verify it holds vacuum on the canister side and releases it when actuated. Rarely have I had an NVLD system need a purge solenoid for this DTC. It is usually an NVLD switch. This is the link to the entire thread: P0441 - Evap Incorrect Purge Flow - Lx Forums | Dodge Charger Challenger Magnum | SRT8 | Chrysler 300 Forum |
