Hey, I came across this stuff called Veil. It's supposed to knock down the effectiveness of a laser gun. Anyone ever use this?

Amazon.com: Veil Anti-Laser Stealth Coating: Automotive

Had my Valentine1 for a week now and I must say the bogey counter on it and the directional arrows are nice. Had a cop hit a car ahead of me with laser and the V1 detected that and gave me enough time to slow down before he hit me.

Had it go off while going under an overpass where a cop was off to the side with radar going non stop and another cop up the road using radar in bursts. I would normally have just sped up after passing him and getting some distance but that bogey counter kept me cautious as it kept going back and forth between 1 and 2. The guy beside me took off and the cop ahead got him.

My last speeding ticket was like $281 or something and $20 additional per month on insurance for the next 2 years... $600 on a good detector is better than a speeding ticket any day of the week.

GpS features are nice but I rather know where to look than just go by something some one else spotted 15 minutes ago... As for stop light cams my iPhone app works wonders Navigon... I still listen to my music just alerts chime in over the it when I get close to a cam.

The passport is a great detector and so is the V1 but like cars they all come down to personal preference.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I finally decided to go with the Beltronics Vector 955 and got it last week. It was about $150 and provided (seemingly) the best results for something under $200 (new).
