Do the 5.7's not come with cabin filters? I checked out my air inlet area and no filter in the housing or noticable way to attach one. Just a (very dirty) screen.
And how the hell am I supposed to access this screen? From this point I can't see it, and had to drop-in my camera to take these blind shots. ![]() ![]()

Mine did not have a cabin filter set up either. I added one.
There is a kit you can get for $40-$60 at the dealer or moparsupercenter. And, you do have to get the kit; you can't just put a filter in. The install is not too bad, but does require some patience and time. |

Here is a quick run down:
Click it --> Passenger Cabin Air Filtration ON SALE NOW PN 82209548 Be sure to read the instructions PDF that is available on the link! Like I said, not a difficult install, just take your time. And yes, it comes with a new screen! Last edited by EPIC SRT; 04-14-2010 at 11:11 PM. |

I just priced one today that the dealership.
The last one I bought was $34.99 which is pricey but from what I'm told if you go with aftermarket cheaper ones you don't get the charcoal treated hepa filtration. Well today the price of the OEM one has gone up to $49.99 which has now priced me out of going with OEM filters. There is no justification for the same filter and filter technology to go up almost 50% in price. RIDICULOUS!

I agree, the pricing is crazy on their filters. Funny thing is, if you buy the unit (linked above) to add the filter system to the car, it comes with the filter. I have since replaced my filter with an aftermarket that has that looks identical to the one that came with the unit (looks like it has a darker filter element in the filter) for about $15.
I'm trying to remember where I got it. Think it was pepboys. |
