This is a MUST for big power. This was required when I was installing bigger systems.

I'd be interested in doing this. The grounding wires on our cars are pretty bad. The long positive is actually pretty beefy though.

I haven't done the big three, but was experiencing some engine noise in the stereo after I put the amp in, so I have upgraded the battery ground and have added a ground wire from each head to the fender. This took care of my noise issue.

If you look real close at the picture in the valve cover thread you'll be able to see the head ground wires. And, nope, I did not try only replacing the battery ground wire first.

Not positive on starting up, but if you notice when your booming and your lights are dimming....this will help!!!!

I would love to get this done, if you help me get my car done(you know how to do this on our cars)...I will help you and pay for the wires and connections for both of us!!!!

Not sure you can replace the positve battery cable to alternator on our cars as it runs the from the back of the car all the way to the front. I have seen on LXF that most are just getting a larger battery to ground, engine to ground, and I thought I read somewhere of upgrading a wire off of the alternator or starter or something.

If I remember correctly, I am using 2 gage.

It can be done but is a total PITA!!!

This link shows it being done on outside of car....from Alt to Battery!!!
http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=225892

I would prefer to have it done inside if possible!!!

But if atleast the other 2 were done and it stopped my lights from dimming...Id be satisfied!!!

jon, It might be my ignorance sometimes it takes me a while to get it Lol
but wouldn't it be easier to get a separate battery for ur system. I know thats what j.lewis did and doesnt have any problems with dimming or nothing like that. just my
humble opinion.

I was actually looking in to to getting a capcell from power acoutstics to help out with my sound system, but then again I'm not going all that big. Since I don't have anything installed I'll jsut wait and see what happens.
