Default need help ASAP

Broke the pink thingy ...i have the shifter assembly out of the console,but i cant get the shift knob off the shifter.It wont twist off,is there some type of release,or am i just not twisting it hard enough?? was afriad i might break it..if u can help,plz call me..Art (209) 604-4191

Thank you John(EpicSRT).. the handle never did break lose,but john was able to talk me thru taking the shifter assembly apart from the bottom...

I remember the handle being ultra tight on my 05, but eventually it came loose. My 07 was a cake walk, no effort at all... Gald you got it fixed..

I put wd-40 on it..then i tried heating it with a heat gun,it still wouldnt break free

John is the man!!
You probably already know this but there was a cross over period somewhere in the mid-2007 on up productions where the OEM shift knobs changed from being screwed off to just pulling up on them.

I wasn't sure the year of your vehicle.

Maybe this will help???!!!! I still have my unbroken Pink Thingy that John changed out for me last year if you need a temporary replacement. I'll be at his home this Sunday, 10/3.

Hahahaha...Thanks Ann..you're prob right,i will check and see if it pulls off..good to know,as I am going to change mine too,had to learn on Karyns car.Both are late 2007's...thank you for the offer on the loan on the spare,i have it covered tho :-)

Good to hear you can have a good laugh about all the effort you put into trying to screw the thing off! With both late 2007 models, that's almost a guarantee the shift knobs pull up!!

Hope things are going well with both of you!
