Thanks for the greetings.
The 79 Magnum vs LXs just wasn't right and we all knew it. B body vs LX = not even the same type of car, but of course before I arrived there wasn't much of anything from the 70s that SJV Mopars had to deal with, so the class was fine. I love the car and we all could be so lucky to have our cars look like that after 30+ years of Daily Driving....I hope my Charger looks that good when it gets that old...lol Not to mention quality control from the 70s makes anything still driveable from that era rare anyway. The problem was it either went to a LX due to it being pristine or my Magnum simply because of nostalgia. It wasn't fair to anyone. Now that it's taken every class I could enter it in, it's time just to park it over in the membership ride area and be fair to everyone involved. I'm not new to Mopars, having owned a 66 and 70 Charger, a Satellite, Magnum, Cordoba, Dakota, Pacifica, two Rams, and a SXT Neon.....probably a few I've missed as well. Used to even own a 64 Corvette Convertible...which was the worst driving car I ever owned and currently have a 68 Elcamino awaiting resto. With the above said, the reason I went with the Six VVT was due to currently owning 4 V8s and 2- fours, needed something down the center. I will definitely be joining in on the cruises and gatherings, but I really need to get the books done and see if the Tax man is going to take my new car...lol |
