Default Have (or want) a cam in a 5.7?.....READ THIS FIRST!!

If you're thinking about installing a cam in a 5.7 or if you already have and are still using the stock timing set, you may want to consider changing it. At least change the tensioner. It's common for the 5.7 tensioner to break due to the increased stresses of a performance camshaft. Upgrading to the 6.1 timing set is a logical solution as it has 4 leaf tensioner springs as opposed to the 2 in the 5.7 set. Crower or Manley sets are also an option.

This is what was found when changing the cam in my car yesterday. No damage done. Dyno tuning this morning at Ditos and should be back on the road this afternoon.
