I just did the reso delete on my SRT. Just as you said, drone kicks up 2000-2500 rpm. I don't like it. I was thinking of adding Flowmaster Super 44, but now I'm afraid drone will be the same. I don't want to put the big clunky resos back on. I don't know that it's possible to have nice exhaust sound without putting up with drone. Can a quite muffler be put on without resonator? Then try electric cut out when I want to make some noise? Not sure which direction to take at this point.

I did two things.... CC inserts..google them.. Or wait a sec..
http://www.carchemistry.com/shop/ind...duct_list&c=76
I put the three disc in, no plug... After the header. Dropped the drone to 1000-1500 and reduced it by half. Then I lined the trunk (all the way to back seat) in dynamat extreme. Now it's probably 1/3 the initial drone with growl. I was going to go underneath seats and do the doors but..I wanted some hot rod sound and was afraid it would be too quiet.

Others simply put lightweight glasspacks after the mufflers, but I didn't want that fluffy sound. The flows growl well.. I could lose or gain Some additional noise provided I lost the majority of the drone... And it worked.

Lastly others bought matching smaller reso's from company xx or picked up at catback... Or gave up and returned to stock.

Bottom line, that suitcase and two reso's are HUGE and heavy... I'll take a 125 lb loss any day... Provided I don't resonate my fillings loose.

Some even went exotic...

Make no mistake about it though.... Every muscle car owner who swapped to alternate performance mufflers was running into this...
Corvettes, Camaros, GTOs, Porsche, etc. Your not alone. If you go down the trunk route/cc inserts, let me know. I'll give ya some advice I wish I had. Whenever the next MG that is within 50 miles (Dublin,Stockton, etc) I'll meet up with ya.. And we will go for a ride.
Check my garage for inserts and dynamat pics

Almost forgot.. The sound you want is going to be from a high flow muffler.. But as my initial post stressed... Each cencal member has a different opinion as to the optimum sound. Flows reminded me of chevelles and old GTOs. I wanted some bass and old school sound. Flows did that... But droned. Irregardless of what you pick, we will find a solution to the majority of your drone..
