Question Transmission

When tax season comes around. Im thinking of either buying a new tranny or having mine rebuilt stronger.

I currently have blue top solenoids and a 2800 stall. But with the amount of torque Im making at the rear wheels (498). My tranny is going to go out sooner than later.

What do you guys think would be best. Buy the rebuild upgrade parts from a specific tranny dealer or buy the tranny out right.

The cost of shipping a tranny back and forth across country is about 600. This is another consideration.

If you can afford it, get the transmission and be done with it. The kits are good up to around 550 rwhp.

Southern Hotrod makes them pretty cheap now (about $3000) and they are pretty bulletproof. I've had one for a year or two with lots of drag racing under my belt

Id like to go new. But is it really new. Nope. Its rebuilt like the rest of the cores that SHR transmission recieves.

Im going to try and contact SHR and see if their willing to part with their Viking rebuild kits. I know a good transmission shop locally and he has his own ideas. But if I can get SHR to sell me their Viking rebuild kit. Ill save some money that way.
