If i leave San Jose at 9am. its about a 5 and a half hour drive (give or take). I think Speed - Stops = about 5.5 or 6hrs...putting me in LA between 2 and 3...if all works according to plan, right? i should avoid most major traffic right?
Thanks for the help, Aaron...Shoeboy"."

No. Traffic in LA starts around 2ish. My brother, who lived in LA for two years, says get there between noon and 1:30pm for best results. Leaving LA for the OC will be the worst stretch.

@AreTee... I believe the same logic applies to the morning. The Midnight Crew should be arriving around 6-7 am and I expect traffic. We will arrive Friday morning. Do u wanna leave a Lil' earlier to join us at the 580/I-5 junction?

The OFFICIAL official Friday SF2010 departure thread
The Sac Crew is leaving around 11:30 pm Thursday to meet the East Bay Crew at the Ingram Creek/ McCracken exit hopefully around 12:30am Friday. This should put us in LA by 6ish and Irvine 7ish. Break off when you have to for that mod. It's all good.

Last time I went to L.A. in the morning ( 2 yrs. ago ) I hit hit heavy traffic at the bottom of the south end of the Grapevine,@ 7ish. It took almost 1.5 hrs. from that point to the west valley off the 405.

Hello, I'm in SJ and looking to head out around 5am Friday anyone else leaving around that time to ride together? The mid-night is just a bit to early plus no checking in until 3pm on all hotels so 6/7am a bit much not being able to check in when traveling with kids. Would like to caravan with a group but I haven't seen anyone willing to leave at 5am which is a good time get's us in LA area around 11:30-Noon at the latest.
