Cool App for Droid

Found this app called aLapHD for my Droid X. It hooks into your HD video camera on the phone and overlays data from GPS and other sensors in your phone such as accelerometer for G force. You can also pair a bluetooth OBDII reader to it for real time car data. I know I can just data log with the predator for this and that's why I'm not wasting money on bluetooth sensor. Anyhow, here's what I did, I have a 180 degree turn for the on ramp near my house and decided this would be a cool place to test out the G force my car can handle in curve with some cool video to go with it. This is what I was able to put together. I also have one with the MPH but for some reason it drops to 0MPH while I'm in the apex of the curve of which I was in the 50MPH range on. So I left it off.

The app lets you see the G force in a digital read out but I can't get it on this free version of the PC software I used to overlay the csv file with the video. The free version of the app doesn't upload the entire video with overlay. It also does lap timing and GPS google maps overlay.

My max G force according to app in the apex was 1.63 G's. Oh and one more funny piece of this test. As I'm exiting the On ramp I go to merge and there is a new Acura TL right there. I wasn't fully in it and this guy punches it to keep me from merging, so I gun it to get around, that's the studder you hear into WOT. He actually stayed on my rear quarter panel area but I was pulling on him enough to get over then I immediately let off as traffic was coming up. That's when you see him fly by in the left lane. He slows down even with me and it's a blue haired old man with a huge grin on his face. He gave me a thumbs up and I couldn't help but grin and give him a thumbs up back. Pretty funny.
