Guys,
I've never legally dragged a car before and would like to start hitting a local 1/4 mile drag strip to see what I and my car can do. What's the closest to the Tracy, CA (Infineon?)area and is anyone up to joining me? Also, what will I need to drag race: Helmet, drive loop, ...? Can the helmet be rented at the track, etc...

Thanks for the info Bill. I would not have thought about the long sleeve shirt rule. Guess I'll be hunting for a helmet before I go as well.

Thanks, which has the better drag strip with less wait time?

I'm assuming its a stock 5.7 hemi? If so, you wont need a helmet or drive shaft loop.

You don't need a long sleeve shirt, just a sleeved shirt, tshirt will be fine.

Giving current mods and tune I expect with good driving and some weight savings before going I could break into high 13's low 14's. I know I have high expectations but that's why I want to do some base lines to see where I'm at. This is all dependent on whether I can find a set of stock 18's to run with prior, otherwise with 275 20's I expect good grip but heavier rotational weight. With the 20's I would expect to hit mid to low 14's. Does this sound right?

My best in my essentially stock 5.7 (CAI only, Daytona R&T package) is 14.1 sec. Wondering if the new exhaust will help improve that.
I plan to hit a wednesday night in sac at the end of the month with a buddy from work with a stock 5.7 2011 R/T . When a figure out which week, I'll let you know.
