Default ESP/BAS went nuts on a mundane u-turn

Anyone know anything about checking for DTC codes or can check my tone rings? Have a feeling I'm gonna need some new ones, preferably without having to buy new axles as I'm broke for the foreseeable future.

Are the sensors in place?

The tire sensors? Think so. I can check.

Monday bump. I made a conservative u-turn on the way home from the in-laws in San Jose Saturday night. When I attempted to accelerate out of the turn to get up the speed, the BAS kicked in and the car went into limp mode. I had to throw it in Park then back into Drive to get back up to speed before I caused a traffic problem. At this point the ESP/BAS and traction lights came on. I pulled over at a gas station down the block, turned off the engine, waited 30 seconds, started the car and the warning lights came on then went out. Hasn't happened again, but after talking to someone back east, I'm worried that the problem is worn out tone rings. So if anyone has any expertise or experience in this area, I'd rather have it looked at before I go to the dealer and they tell me I need new axles. Also debating whether to just drive with the ESP off to avoid getting stalled in traffic again.

You could probably have it scanned at a dealer to find out what caused the limp mode. There could be codes that would not show up as CELs

It's probably not the tone rings, they also can't be replaced withough the axle it's a machined fit. To me it sounds more l ike a dynamics sensor or possibly a steering angle sensor. neither one is very expensive. Like Steve said, I can check it for you for free and we can go from there.
