Question Wheels

I need some ideas. What kind of wheel set up would you guys go with for quarter mile racing. And which tire would be good. Not looking for a completely sticky tire. Sticky tires might hurt the rearend. Looking for something in between. A little give but much better than a street tire.

17 or 18 inch aluminum rim... Wider tire in rear...Inflate to max psi.

Your tire question is difficult to answer. I would want it sticky... Max hookup, and look for the weak point in the trans... But you mentioned some slippage so.....?????

You lightening up the rear will create some slippage anyway (spare an jack... Reso's , etc are prob 125 lbs of crap at least.

I'm not a NASCAR expert though.. Maybe somebody else will chime in.

I consider a Mickey Thompson ET street tires as pretty sticky. I was hoping someone might chime in about maybe a drag radial. I looked at couple websites for Weld 17x10 and 17x5 in front. Im not wild about the look though.

I want some slippage cause Im thinking an independent rearend isnt always the best at handling a heavy car with a good amount of torque.

I understand I can remove some weight from the rear and even remove the rear seats for weight savings. But a 300 is just a very heavy car no matter how much you look at it.

Every LX is heavy..
Keep your comfort stuff. I understand your IS comment, however it hasn't hindered my runs...that I could tell. Driver error/reaction and proper feathering were/are my gremlins... I never expected a large change based on daily driver tires... Just my exp.
And yeah... I'm running crappy Goodyears lol
